About 64% of American adults currently consume coffee every day. According to a study conducted by the NCA, this is the highest rate since 2012. They drink about 400 million cups of coffee every day. Which is absolutely mind-blowing. This works out to about 146 billion cups of coffee per year. Also, according to statistics, 66% of women drink coffee every day, compared to 62% of men. It is also worth noting that about 79% of Americans prepare coffee at home.
Furthermore, about 35% of coffee consumers usually drink black coffee.
45% of US coffee consumers brew their coffee by a drip coffee maker. However, the appreciation of this drink is not restricted to the citizens of the United States of America. For example, in Finland, an average of 12 kg of coffee is consumed per person annually. It does not end there. In 2018, South America produced over 81.5 million bags of coffee, and if each bag weighs 60 kilograms, then South America must have produced more than 5 million tons that year. This effectively makes them the greatest coffee producer across the globe. Additionally, about 110 to 120 million bags of coffee are produced in the world every year.
